A 400 speed black and white sold under a playful house name, tied to Kosmo Foto. The actual emulsion behind it is undisclosed. The name promises mood.

How it behaves

An ISO 400 panchromatic black and white film with a film-noir theme. Fine grained at box speed, with grain and contrast building as it is pushed. Shoot at 400 as a general B&W roll and let the first roll tell you what it is. It develops in any standard B&W developer, and Kosmo Foto published a development table for it. The base emulsion is an existing stock from an established maker, but the actual manufacturer is undisclosed. It is marketed as comparable to Ilford Pan 400 and Delta 400.

That is one of its documented uses: street and low-light shooting when pushed, and night and cinematic B&W looks. At box speed it is a general B&W roll.

Is Agent Shadow 400 still available?

Unclear. It is listed by several retailers as out of stock, and one reviewer reported it is no longer in production. That report is unverified.
