Amber 50
A slow 50-speed color film from Amber, and the roll where the back of my mju II popped open at Disneyland. Half accident, half light leak study.
Where I have shot it
Disneyland, on the Olympus mju II. The back of the camera popped open mid-roll. This is what that looks like.
How it behaves
Needs bright light or a tripod, and small brands can vary roll to roll, so shoot one as a test and judge the colors yourself. The batch research could not verify a product under the name Amber 50 from any manufacturer, retailer, or lab. The RETO Amber line sold by Reformed Film Lab includes D100, T200, D400, and T800, with no ISO 50 variant found, so do not assume the stated speed or process for this name. None of that is what this roll is about anyway. These frames were shot at Disneyland on an Olympus mju II, and the back popped open mid-roll. The orange burn across most of the set is daylight hitting film that was supposed to stay dark.
Questions people ask
What happened to this roll?
The back of the mju II popped open at Disneyland. Daylight flooded the film inside, which is the orange and red burn across most of these frames. Some frames burned almost completely. A few came through nearly clean.
Is Amber 50 good in low light?
At ISO 50 it wants bright light or a tripod. Low light is not its home turf.
What process does Amber 50 use?
Unconfirmed, and unverified in the research. Do not assume a process. Check the actual listing before developing.
