Fujicolor Pro 400H
Fuji’s legendary 400-speed portrait film. Soft contrast and beautiful greens. It was the wedding photographer’s favorite, it was discontinued in 2021, and people still mourn it.
How it behaves
Only expired rolls exist now, and prices show it. Cold-store it if you find it and overexpose it slightly. Old 400H stays remarkably well behaved. As a starting point, overexpose roughly one stop per decade past expiry, knowing results depend on age and storage. Its fourth color layer gave accurate color under mixed and fluorescent light. Skin tones are smooth and the exposure latitude is wide.
