Fuji’s punchy consumer 400 film. More contrast and saturation than its Kodak rivals. The loud one in the drugstore lineup.

How it behaves

It is great for flash and parties, which is what it was made for. Greens can go electric. It is a fun, unsubtle stock with a cooler, green-leaning palette. Early revisions carried a fourth color layer for accurate color under fluorescent light. Its wide latitude and DX coding made it forgiving in point-and-shoot cameras. It was discontinued in April 2024 and replaced by Fujifilm 400, so only expired stock remains. Overexpose roughly one stop per decade past expiry.
