Kodak UltraMax 400
UltraMax 400 is a quick, practical color film with bright color and visible grain. It is not subtle, but it is flexible enough to leave in a camera when the day keeps changing.
How it behaves
Box speed works well for general daylight and gives more room when the light drops. It has useful latitude, but underexposed shadows can get rough fast, so meter for the darker part of the scene when it matters. The research describes punchy, saturated color with warm reds, notes it is noticeably grainier than pro 400-speed stocks, and says it is great with on-camera flash. It is 35mm only.
